The lost city Vilcabamba La GrandeHatun Vilcabamba

This website shows the fruit of twenty-five years of research and exploration in Peru in search of the mysterious lost city of the Incas.

A long and exciting adventure; after which we have discovered Hatun Vilcabamba, the lost capital of the last Inca, Tupac Amaru known by the Spaniards as Vilcabamba the Great.

It is hidden under vegetation, between snow-capped mountains and jungles in the Sierra de Vilcabamba, in an unpopulated territory west of Machu Picchu.

In a quarter of a century of research we have worked in archives and exploring on the ground with machetes, we have done excavations, we´ve flown drones and we´ve analyzed satellite information.

The result is the first digital reconstruction of the mysterious lost sacred capital of the Incas, made with data collected on the ground and information from satellites.
